Baseball Recap: Pine Lake Prep Wins Going Away Against Independence

Pine Lake Prep barely beat Independence the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Pine Lake Prep Pride were the clear victor by a 22-12 margin over the Independence Patriots on Wednesday. That ten run margin sets a new team best for the Pride this season.

Pine Lake Prep got a massive performance out of Grant Ingram, who fired off two home runs and five RBI while going 3-for-5. The dominant performance gave Ingram a new career-high in home runs. Kelton Osborne was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI.

Ingram wasn't the only one working in the home run department: Pine Lake Prep lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Independence didn't launched any home runs.

Pine Lake Prep's victory bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Independence, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-4.

Coming up, Pine Lake Prep is taking a road trip to take on Corvian Community at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Independence, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Charlotte Catholic at 6:00 p.m. Charlotte Catholic's pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so Independence's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
