Jacie Young was a standout: she went 3-for-5 with five RBI, three doubles, and two runs. Those three doubles gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Landrie Stevens, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

Paris always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cumberland only posted an OBP of .318.

Everything went their way against Parke Heritage on Thursday as Westville made off with a 19-4 win. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won five matches by eight runs or more so far this season.

Lilly Kiesel made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over four innings while giving up four earned runs off five hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, firing off two home runs, three RBI, and one double while going 3-for-3. Those home runs were her first of the season.

In other batting news, Laney Cook was incredible, firing off three home runs and seven RBI while going 3-for-4. Lani Gondzur was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.

Paris now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Westville, their victory bumped their record up to 5-1.

Saturday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Paris hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .437. However, it's not like Westville struggles in that department as they've averaged .389. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.

Paris couldn't quite finish off Westville in their previous meeting back in March of 2024 and fell 4-2. Can Paris avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
