Basketball Recap: Taft Comes Up Short

Taft was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat. They took a blow against the Brennan Bears, falling 101-25. The match marked the Raiders' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Leading Brennan to victory were Kingston Flemings and Donovan Criss. Flemings went 10 for 15 on his way to 25 points in addition to seven assists and six boards, while Criss went 7 of 9 on his way to 20 points and four steals. What's more, Flemings also racked up five steals, the most he's had since back in November of 2024. Tre Keene was another key player, going 5 for 9 on his way to 14 points.

Taft's loss dropped their record down to 5-18. As for Brennan, their win was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 20-2.

Taft will challenge O'Connor at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in O'Connor's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four games. As for Brennan, they will face off against Warren at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Brennan has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
