Football Recap: Phoenix Christian Comes Up Short

Phoenix Christian and Benson squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Phoenix Christian had to settle for second. They took a 35-21 bruising from the Bobcats. The Cougars were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bobcats earlier this season, when they won 49-14.

Dawson Judd had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 175 yards and four scores on only 13 carries for Benson. Those four rushing touchdowns gave Judd a new career-high.

Phoenix Christian has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-3 record this season. As for Benson, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.

Phoenix Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Benson, they will head out to take on Willcox at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cowboys' defense has only allowed 12.3 points per game this season, so the Bobcats' offense will have their work cut out for them.
