Basketball Recap: Adams City Comes Up Short

Adams City lost against Aurora Central back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Adams City Eagles were outmatched by the Aurora Central Trojans and fell 50-23. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Adams City still got an impressive performance from Evelyn Reyes, who posted two points along with eight boards and three blocks. Reyes is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last 11 games she's played.

It was another big night for Jamaea Johnson-Gonzales, who dropped a double-double on 30 points and 17 boards for Aurora Central. Aurora Central is 7-1 when Johnson-Gonzales posts 15 or more points, but 3-5 otherwise. Andena Torres was another key player, putting up three points and five steals.

Adams City's defeat dropped their record down to 4-15. As for Aurora Central, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-6.

Adams City has already played their next match (against Northglenn), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Aurora Central, they will take on Eagle Ridge Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
