Baseball Game Preview: Paducah Tilghman Blue Tornado vs. Ballard Memorial Bombers

The Paducah Tilghman Blue Tornado will square off against the Ballard Memorial Bombers at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Paducah Tilghman's pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so Ballard Memorial's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Paducah Tilghman is returning to their home field after beating St. Mary on theirs, despite the fact St. Mary has dominated at home this season. The Blue Tornado walked away with a 4-1 victory over the Vikings on Thursday. The Blue Tornado haven't had any issues with the Vikings recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, Ballard Memorial came into Thursday's game having lost seven straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They put the hurt on Mayfield with a sharp 9-3 victory on Thursday. The Bombers not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since April 1st (when they won 14-3).

The team relied heavily on Lance Scott, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with five RBI, two doubles, and one run. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. Reed Duren was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

Paducah Tilghman's win bumped their record up to 12-3. As for Ballard Memorial, their victory bumped their record up to 5-17.

Everything went Paducah Tilghman's way against Ballard Memorial in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, as Paducah Tilghman made off with an 8-1 win. Will the Blue Tornado repeat their success, or do the Bombers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
