Crested Butte and Frontier Academy squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Crested Butte had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Wolverines by a score of 1-0. Having soared to a lofty five goals in the game before, Crested Butte's shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Crested Butte's defeat dropped their record down to 10-3-4. As for Frontier Academy, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 14-2-1.

Crested Butte does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Frontier Academy, they will challenge Buena Vista at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Frontier Academy's defense better be ready for this one: Buena Vista have averaged an impressive 5.5 goals per game this season.
