Baseball Game Preview: Abbeville Panthers vs. Ware Shoals Hornets

Abbeville has gone 8-2 against Ware Shoals recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Abbeville Panthers are taking a road trip to square off against the Ware Shoals Hornets at 7:00 p.m. Abbeville will be coming into the contest with an undefeated record on the line.

While Abbeville's victory against Ware Shoals wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Abbeville narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Ware Shoals 3-2. The three-run effort marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring match of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Adam Beiler spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on five hits and racked up nine Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Lohen Nickles was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That triple was his first of the season.

Ware Shoals moved to 8-2 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 14.5 runs. As for Abbeville, they pushed their record up to 8-0 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Abbeville has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.8 stolen bases per game.
