Basketball Game Preview: Chapman Panthers vs. Greer Middle College Blazers

The Chapman Panthers will venture away from home to square off against the Greer Middle College Blazers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Chapman has five straight wins, Greer Middle College has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Last Friday, Chapman strolled past Broome with points to spare, taking the game 56-38.

Annastyn Smith and Krislyn Wilder were among the main playmakers for Chapman as the former went 6 for 11 on her way to 17 points and seven rebounds and the latter almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine boards. The dominant performance also gave Smith a new career-high in blocks (two). Another player making a difference was Rylan Ivey, who posted ten points.

Chapman smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in four consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Greer Middle College didn't have quite enough to beat Mountain View Prep on Friday and fell 38-35.

Chapman pushed their record up to 12-9 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. As for Greer Middle College, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-14.

Everything came up roses for Chapman against Greer Middle College when the teams last played on January 9th, as the squad secured a 74-25 win. In that matchup, Chapman amassed a halftime lead of 34-9, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Tuesday.
