Overton is a perfect 3-0 against Melrose since March of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Overton Wolverines will take on the Melrose Golden Wildcats at 4:30 p.m.

Overton is headed out to face Melrose after opening their season at home and giving their fans just what they were looking for. Everything went Overton's way against Melrose on Monday as Overton made off with a 12-3 victory. The win continues a trend for the Wolverines in their matchups with the Golden Wildcats: they've now won three in a row.

Daiquan Dixon made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out nine batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off one hit. Dixon was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing Three bases.

In other batting news, Jeremiah Haynes was a standout: he scored two runs and stole Four bases. while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Aiden Dillard, who scored a run and stole Five bases. while getting on base in both of his plate appearances.

Everything went Overton's way against Melrose when the teams last played on Monday, as Overton made off with a 12-3 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Overton since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
