Football Game Preview: DuPont Tigers vs. Brandywine Bulldogs

The DuPont Tigers will square off against the Brandywine Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

DuPont headed into their last game having not scored more than 13 points for six straight, but McKean let them put that streak behind them. The Tigers claimed a resounding 46-8 victory over the Highlanders. The Tigers' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Meanwhile, while Brandywine put up plenty of points on Friday, the same can't be said for Dickinson. The Bulldogs took their contest with ease, bagging a 54-0 win over the Rams. The victory continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Rams: they've now won six in a row.

DuPont better keep an eye on Peyton Taylor. He was instrumental in Brandywine's win, rushing for 121 yards and three TDs on only seven carries. Those three rushing touchdowns gave Taylor a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Chase Beauparlant, who threw for 195 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 78.6% of his passes.

One reason for the win was Brandywine's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. In that department, Nicholas Webb was the leader with two.

DuPont's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-6. As for Brandywine, their victory bumped their record up to 5-2.

DuPont was dealt a bruising 38-0 loss at the hands of Brandywine when the teams last played back in October of 2021. Can the Tigers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
