Baseball Recap: Dekaney Takes a Loss

Fans were treated to a battle of the Wildcats on Friday. Dekaney took an 8-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of Splendora. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Splendora this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-1 last Friday.

Dekaney saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Michael Hayes, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Another was Adrian Martinez, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with two stolen bases.

Dekaney's defeat dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Splendora, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season.

Dekaney will challenge Fort Bend Bush at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday. As for Splendora, they will square off against Huntsville at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
