Volleyball Game Preview: Philip Barbour Colts vs. Hedgesville Eagles

Philip Barbour is 1-8-1 against Hedgesville since October of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Colts will take on the Eagles at 10:00 a.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Philip Barbour comes in on three and Hedgesville on ten.

Philip Barbour is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of West Virginia's top teams: Martinsburg, who was ranked sixth at the time (Philip Barbour was ranked 11th). The Colts came out on top against the Bulldogs by a score of 2-0 on Saturday.

The home team had come away the winner the last four times Hedgesville and Jefferson had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Eagles put the hurt on the Cougars with a sharp 3-0 victory on Tuesday.

While Hedgesville won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-22, 25-17.

Philip Barbour better keep an eye on Gillian Sykes. She was instrumental in Hedgesville's win, getting nine digs and two aces. That's the most digs Sykes has posted since back in August.

Philip Barbour's record now sits at 32-7-2. As for Hedgesville, their record is now 31-3-3.
