Softball Recap: Southwest Comes Up Short

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Southwest's offense. They lost 19-0 to the Mt. Vernon Mountaineers on Tuesday. The Trojans haven't had much luck with the Mountaineers recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Southwest saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaleigh Tull, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

Southwest's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Mt. Vernon, their win bumped their record up to 10-3.

Coming up, Southwest is taking a road trip to take on Hurley at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Trojans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tigers have averaged an impressive 10.5 runs per game this season. As for Mt. Vernon, they will be playing at home against Lamar at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
