Baseball Recap: Havana Comes Up Short at Home Against Athens

Havana unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They fell 6-2 to the Athens Warriors on Tuesday. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it five in a row.

Havana saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Owen Smith, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI. Those two hits gave Smith a new career-high.

Havana has already played their next contest, an 8-4 loss against Monmouth United on the 21st. As for Athens, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Pawnee at 4:30 p.m.
