The Bangor Cardinals were the 54-53 winner over the Hillsboro Tigers when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Bangor was just a bucket shy of victory on Thursday and fell 52-51 to the Tigers. Bangor has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
When it comes to explaining why Bangor lost, one person who can't be blamed is Chase Horstman. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 17 points and 13 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Nolan Michek, who scored 12 points along with two steals.
Bangor's loss dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Hillsboro, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-7.
Bangor will head out on the road to face off against the Rockets at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. New Lisbon has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Hillsboro, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Cashton's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
