Soccer Game Preview: Woodford County vs. Central Hardin

The Woodford County Yellowjackets are taking a road trip to take on the Central Hardin Bruins at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Woodford County is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.2 goals per game this season.

Woodford County barely beat Oldham County the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Yellowjackets' defense stepped up to hand the Colonels a 4-0 shutout on Monday. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for Woodford County considering their one-goal performance the match before.

They hit Oldham County with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Abby Lowe (2), Sacoyia Garcia, and Ivy Porter.

Meanwhile, Central Hardin faced Boyle County in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Bruins fell just short of the Rebels by a score of 3-2. That's two games in a row now that Central Hardin have lost by just one goal.

Woodford County is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4-2 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those four contests. As for Central Hardin, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-7.

Woodford County might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from Central Hardin in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Can the Yellowjackets avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
