Basketball Recap: Windham RVT Wins High-Profile Contest Against Grasso Tech

On Friday, Windham RVT faced Grasso Tech in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Windham RVT Mighty Tigers took down the Grasso Tech Eagles 71-56. The victory was nothing new for the Mighty Tigers as they're now sitting on three straight.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Windham RVT to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brady Marsh, who posted 21 points. Marsh's evening made it seven games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Colby Dunnack, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 rebounds.

Grasso Tech's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Julius Washington, who almost dropped a double-double on 20 points and nine rebounds. Washington is crushing it when it comes to points: he's scored at least 18 every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Ryan Gemaly, who went 7 of 14 on his way to 16 points in addition to six boards and three steals.

Windham RVT's win ended a three-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-1. As for Grasso Tech, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-2.

Windham RVT wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 75-72 victory against Goodwin Tech on the 7th. As for Grasso Tech, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 77-51 win against Vinal RVT on the 7th.
