Basketball Recap: GEO Next Generation Takes a Loss

GEO Next Generation suffered their biggest loss since December 29, 2023 on Saturday. They lost 59-38 to the Scotlandville Hornets. The game marked the Tigers' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Scotlandville's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kenneth Jones, who posted 12 points along with six boards and four steals. Jones is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Aaron Marshall, who went 5 of 11 on his way to 17 points and five rebounds.

GEO Next Generation's defeat dropped their record down to 10-3. As for Scotlandville, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. GEO Next Generation will take on Albany in a holiday battle at at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Albany has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 176 points over their last three contests. Scotlandville and University Lab will compete for holiday cheer at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Scotlandville is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.8 points per game this season.
