Basketball Recap: Garaway Starts Season with Defeat on the Road

Garaway had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They took a 53-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of the West Holmes Knights on Tuesday. The Pirates were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Knights apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2024.

The victory got West Holmes back to even at 1-1.

Garaway and West Holmes will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Pirates will challenge rival Claymont at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, West Holmes is set to square off against their familiar foe Mansfield Senior at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
