Baseball Game Preview: Cordova Blue Devils vs. Cherokee County Warriors

For the second straight game, Cordova will face off against Cherokee County. The Blue Devils will be playing in front of their home fans against the Warriors at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Cordova has three straight victories, Cherokee County has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Cordova is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Cherokee County 3-1.

Caleb Kilpatrick spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits.

At the plate, Cordova's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Daniel Jackson, who went 1-for-3 with one run.

Cherokee County's loss dropped their record down to 21-16-1. As for Cordova, they now have a winning record of 16-15.
