Recap: Queensbury Spartans vs. Bethlehem Central Eagles
After a string of 16 wins, the Queensbury Spartans's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. Their rough 59-34 loss to Bethlehem Central might stick with them for a while. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Queensbury of the 68-27 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2022.
Queensbury's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kaitlyn Barton, who scored seven points along with five rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Sedona Jones, who scored nine points.
Queensbury's defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 17-2. As for Bethlehem Central, they pushed their record up to 12-6 with that victory, which was their fifth straight on the road.
Queensbury will be playing in front of their home fans against Saratoga Springs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bethlehem Central, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Guilderland at 7:00 p.m. on February 9th. Bethlehem Central has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 308 points over their last five games.
