After a string of 11 wins, Port Neches-Groves's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Barbers Hill Eagles. The matchup marked the first time this year in which the Indians were not able to get on the board.

Mckayla Hranicky spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on five hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

Port Neches-Groves' loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 18-3. As for Barbers Hill, the victory (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 19-2.
