Purvis entered their tilt with Forrest County Agricultural on Thursday with six consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with seven. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Aggies a 15-0 shutout. The Tornadoes might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matches by eight runs or more this season.

Jadie Byrd - 2027 made a big impact no matter where she played. She pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in February.

In other batting news, Aubrey Easley - 2026 was a standout: she scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-2. She continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Lily Reynolds - 2027, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI.

Purvis was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .579. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Forrest County Agricultural only posted a batting average of .100.

Purvis' record now sits at 14-5. As for Forrest County Agricultural, their defeat was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-20.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Purvis will square off against West Harrison at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Forrest County Agricultural, they will challenge Meridian at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Forrest County Agricultural is facing Meridian at the right time seeing as Meridian is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
