Baseball Recap: Oak Hall Takes Down Countryside Christian in a Playoff Battle

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Oak Hall had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They blew past the Countryside Christian Minutemen 16-3. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Minutemen recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

The team relied heavily on Aaron Akins, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Oak Hall is 4-1 when Akins posts two or more runs, but 4-7 otherwise. Brayden Farmer was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

Oak Hall kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

The win got Oak Hall back to even at 8-8. As for Countryside Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 14-6.

Looking ahead, Oak Hall will take on Saint Francis Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Wolves will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something the Eagles surely won't give up without a fight. Countryside Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
