Paramus Catholic (Paramus, N.J.) trailed
Delbarton (Morristown, N.J.) by 16 points at one time, but managed to come all the way back and secure a 36-23 victory on Saturday.
The win marks the third straight season-opening victory for Paramus Catholic under head coach Chris Partridge.
In his first game with his new team,
Jabrill Peppers played well for Paramus Catholic in the victory. The junior ran for two touchdowns and caught one touchdown.
Peppers, the reigning
National Sophomore of the Year, will likely be a focal point of the Paladins' offense this season while continuing to star in the secondary.
The Green Wave's
Michael Bicknese was the standout player for his team. The senior quarterback threw one touchdown.
Paramus Catholic (1-0) will play a Big North - United game against DePaul next week. It
made news earlier this week when it announced it had dropped Eastern Christian Academy and scheduled a game with Friendship Collegiate Academy.
Delbarton (0-1) will look to rebound next week when it takes on West Morris Mendham in a Northwest Jersey - National game.
