South Garner is 0-6 against Willow Spring since March of 2022 but things could change on Tuesday. The South Garner Titans will take on the Willow Spring Storm at 4:30 p.m. South Garner has given up an average of 16.2 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.

South Garner is headed into Tuesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their sixth straight game dating back to last season on Friday. They came up short against Clayton, falling 17-4.

South Garner saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chyenne Epps, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base and one RBI. Kalayah Edwards also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

Meanwhile, Willow Spring got themselves on the board against Southeast Raleigh on Friday, but Southeast Raleigh never followed suit. Georgia Miller made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). Miller was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-1.

In other batting news, Abby Howard was a standout: she got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Howard is also crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season. Carly Simon was another key player, going 2-for-3 with four runs, one triple, and one double.

Willow Spring was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .435. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Southeast Raleigh only posted a batting average of .067.

South Garner's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Willow Spring, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season.

South Garner might still be hurting after the 16-1 defeat they got from Willow Spring in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can South Garner avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
