Basketball Recap: Beulah Comes Up Short

Beulah has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They lost 80-60 to the Lee-Scott Academy Warriors on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Bobcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 224th, while the Warriors are ranked 74th).

Parker Wright was the offensive standout of the contest as he went 6 of 7 en route to 14 points and five rebounds. That's the most points he has posted since back in January of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Barrett Cook, who went 5 for 8 on his way to 12 points and six boards.

Beulah's defeat dropped their record down to 11-6. As for Lee-Scott Academy, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 22-4.

Beulah didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 71-45 loss against Glenwood on the 31st. Lee-Scott Academy has also already played their next game (against Loachapoka), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
