Softball Recap: Liberty Magnet Drops Season-High Score on Mcdonogh 35

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Liberty Magnet). They never let the McDonogh 35 Roneagles get on the board and left with a 20-0 win on Saturday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Patriots as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

J'Niya Graham made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the first time she hasn't allowed a single hit since back in March of 2024. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing Three bases. while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. She also got a hit, marking her first of the season.

In other batting news, Miracle Sanders was a standout: she scored three runs and stole Six bases. while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Sarah Patterson, who scored three runs and stole Five bases. while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Liberty Magnet always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .958. They are 2-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Liberty Magnet's win bumped their record up to 2-5.

Looking ahead, Liberty Magnet will take on St. Mary's Academy at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. St. Mary's Academy has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.5 runs per game on average), something Liberty Magnet will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for McDonogh 35, they will head out to challenge Warren Easton at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The matchup will give Warren Easton their first taste of in-conferenceaction this season.
