Softball Recap: Ennis Has No Trouble Against Lincoln County

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Florence-Carlton, Ennis was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 15-5 margin over the Lincoln County Lions. That looming 15-5 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Mustangs yet this season.

Jaycee Funke was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. Those RBI marked the first that she has brought in this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ruby Boggus, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Ennis always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .590. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Ennis now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Lincoln County, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Looking ahead, Ennis will head out to take on Troy at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Mustangs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Trojans have averaged an impressive 10.1 runs per game this season.
