Baseball Recap: Badin Has No Trouble Against Archbishop Alter

Badin put their dominant pitchers on display in the team's third consecutive shutout on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Archbishop Alter Knights. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 15-0 last Thursday.

Braden Dirheimer looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.

On the hitting side, Badin got a big performance out of Kade Bowling, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Bowling is becoming a predictor of the Rams' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 2-3 when he doesn't). Cooper Ollis also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Badin was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .480. The last time their batting average was this high was back in May of 2024.

Badin is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.6 runs over those games. As for Archbishop Alter, they now have a losing record of 4-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Badin will take on Archbishop Hoban at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Rams 2.8, the Knights 1.8) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Archbishop Alter, they will square off against Lehman Catholic at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
