Basketball Recap: Blake Green's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Robinson over Cumberland

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Robinson can now relate to. They fell 60-53 to the Cumberland Pirates on Monday. The Maroons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Robinson's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Blake Green, who posted 11 points and five steals. Those five steals gave Green a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrew Sparks, who had 11 points.

Cumberland's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kaleb Bierman led the charge by dropping a double-double with 16 points and ten rebounds. Chase Stewart was another key player, putting up 20 points.

Robinson's loss dropped their record down to 5-25. As for Cumberland, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 15 of their last 17 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-10 record this season.

Robinson does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Cumberland, they have already played their next contest, a 55-35 defeat against Paris on the 26th.
