Volleyball Recap: Mountain Lake/Comfrey Comes Up Short

Mountain Lake/Comfrey lost against Adrian/Ellsworth back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Mountain Lake/Comfrey came up short against Adrian/Ellsworth, falling 3-0.

While Mountain Lake/Comfrey was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Adrian/Ellsworth's winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-13, 25-17.

Kylie Phommachan paced Mountain Lake/Comfrey's offense, picking up four kills. Phommachan got some help from Nadia Phommachan and her 12 assists. Finally, Emily Wilson kept Mountain Lake/Comfrey's defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.

Mountain Lake/Comfrey's defeat was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Adrian/Ellsworth, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-4.

Coming up, after both having extra time off, Mountain Lake/Comfrey and Edgerton will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Adrian/Ellsworth, they will venture away from home to challenge Jackson County Central at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.
