Basketball Recap: HEM Falls Short of Lingle-Fort Laramie in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact HEM can now relate to. They took a blow against the Lingle-Fort Laramie Doggers on Saturday, falling 68-35. The Miners have struggled against the Doggers recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.

Lingle-Fort Laramie was led to victory by Skyla Wunder and Jordynn Speckner. Wunder posted 21 points and eight steals, while Speckner went 8-for-16 en route to 18 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. Wunder is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last 21 games she's played. Charlotte Speckner was another key player, putting up eight points and six boards.

HEM's loss dropped their record down to 15-7. As for Lingle-Fort Laramie, they pushed their record up to 21-4 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home.

HEM does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Lingle-Fort Laramie, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 57-37 victory against Niobrara County on the 1st.
