Football Game Preview: Burkeville Mustangs vs. Northland Christian Cougars

The Burkeville Mustangs are taking a road trip to square off against the Northland Christian Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 65-20, which was the final score in Burkeville's tilt against Baytown Christian two weeks ago. The loss put an end to the Mustangs' undefeated start to the season.

Despite the defeat, Burkeville got top-tier performance from JaDerrick Ballard, who rushed for 129 yards and two scores on only 12 carries, and also threw for 155 yards and one TD on only 13 passes.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 44 points the game before, Northland Christian was a bit more limited in their contest last Thursday. They were dealt a 56-8 loss at the hands of Emery/Weiner.

Having lost for the first time this season, Burkeville fell to 2-1. As for Northland Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.
