Softball Recap: Elk Mound Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Elk Mound can now relate to. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 3-1 to the Stanley-Boyd Orioles, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Mounders have struggled against the Orioles recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Elk Mound's defeat dropped their record down to 17-7. As for Stanley-Boyd, the win was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 19-4.

Elk Mound does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Stanley-Boyd, they will take on Fall Creek on Thursday. The Crickets' pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so the Orioles' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
