Saturday just wasn't the day for Emporia's offense. They lost 8-0 to the Basehor-Linwood Bobcats on Saturday. The Spartans' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Emporia's loss dropped their record down to 11-8. As for Basehor-Linwood, they have been performing well recently as they've won 13 of their last 16 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-6-1 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Emporia will face off against Manhattan on Thursday. As for Basehor-Linwood, they will challenge Lansing on Tuesday. The Lions' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so the Bobcats' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
