Basketball Recap: Chalker Comes Up Short

Chalker was the 44-30 winner over Badger when they last played one another last Thursday, but their luck changed this time around. The Chalker Wildcats took a 51-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Badger Braves on Saturday. While the Wildcats didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Braves 11-6 in the first quarter.

Badger's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Riley Thomas led the charge by dropping a double-double on 21 points and 16 rebounds. Thomas is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for four straight games. Gabriella Miller was another key player, putting up 12 points and six steals.

Chalker dropped their record down to 4-9 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Badger, their record now sits at 7-11.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Chalker Wildcats challenge the Bristol Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Badger, they will take on Pymatuning Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Pymatuning Valley will roll in looking for their tenth straight win, something Badger surely won't give up without a fight.
