Franklin had lost nine games on the road dating back to last season, but after bumping their record up to 7-12-1 on Friday that streak is in the rearview. They were the clear victors by a 14-7 margin over the Ida B. Wells Guardians. Considering the Quakers have won six contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
As for Ida B. Wells, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 9-13 record. Guardians fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against Franklin since on Friday.
For Ida B. Wells' part, Sophia Paladino stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with one RBI. Hayden Miramontes was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one triple and two RBI.
