Christ the King hasn't had much luck against Lincoln Charter recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Crusaders will head out to square off against the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. Christ the King is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games.
Christ the King had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the eight-run drubbing they dealt Corvian Community on Wednesday. The Crusaders never let the Cardinals get on the board and left with an 8-0 victory.

Owen Shipman made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out 11 over seven innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one double. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2024.
In other batting news, James Phillips was a standout: he got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. Troy Alderfer was another key player, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Lincoln Charter didn't have quite enough to beat Charlotte Country Day School on Wednesday and fell 5-4.
Lincoln Charter saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Canton Bare, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and one RBI. Another was Danny Okoniewski, who went 2-for-3 with one run.
Christ the King pushed their record up to 11-6 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.2 runs over those games. As for Lincoln Charter, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-4.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Christ the King has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Lincoln Charter struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 8.1 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Christ the King couldn't quite finish off Lincoln Charter when the teams last played back in May of 2024 and fell 3-1. Can the Crusaders avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
