Softball Game Preview: Timothy Christian Trojans vs. Ridgewood Rebels

Timothy Christian hasn't had much luck against Ridgewood recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Timothy Christian Trojans are headed away from home for the first time to face off against the Ridgewood Rebels at 4:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Timothy Christian is headed out to face Ridgewood after opening their season at home and giving their fans just what they were looking for. Timothy Christian never let Parkview Christian Academy get on the board and left with a 15-0 win on Tuesday.

Maci Woerner was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Woerner was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

In other batting news, Sophia Mook was incredible, scoring three runs while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Chloe Wetterquist, who scored three runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.

Timothy Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .704. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Parkview Christian Academy only posted an OBP of .250.

Meanwhile, Ridgewood had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They blew past Regina Dominican 15-2 on Monday. The Rebels not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since May 3, 2024.

The team relied heavily on Tessa Hanson, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and three RBI.

Timothy Christian was able to grind out a solid victory over Ridgewood in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, winning 10-5. Does Timothy Christian have another victory up their sleeve, or will Ridgewood turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
