The Peru Tigers will square off against the Marion Giants at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Peru will be strutting in after a victory while Marion will be coming in after a loss.
Peru will bounce into Thursday's matchup after beating Logansport, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Tigers skirted past the Berries 3-2.
If you add up the scores from across all five sets (109-104) Peru actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. The final score came out to 20-25, 25-23, 19-25, 25-23, 15-13.

Peru can attribute much of their success to Lilly Steele, who had 18 digs and one assist, and Jacey Boswell, who had 17 kills, eight digs, and four aces. Boswell is on a roll when it comes to kills, as she's now had five or more in each of the last 13 games she's played.
Meanwhile, Marion was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 18th straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of Anderson.
In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Marion sadly dropped the once that decided the match. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 28-26, 21-25, 15-12.
Peru's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-10. As for Marion, their loss dropped their record down to 1-20.
Everything went Peru's way against Marion in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as Peru made off with a 3-0 victory. Will the Tigers repeat their success, or do the Giants have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
