Soccer Recap: Lincoln Takes a Loss

Lincoln lost against Ankeny back in April of 2018, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Railsplitters lost 9-0 to the Hawks. While losing is never fun, Lincoln can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa soccer rankings (they are ranked 124th, while Ankeny are ranked fourth).

With the loss, Lincoln broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-14-1. As for Ankeny, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-2-3.

Lincoln has already played their next game, a 9-0 defeat against Ankeny Christian Academy on the 28th. As for Ankeny, they also didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next matchup, a 9-0 victory against Pleasantville on the 28th.
