Volleyball Recap: Elkhorn South Comes Up Short in High-Profile Contest with Millard South

Elkhorn South faced Millard South in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Storm fell just short of the Patriots by a score of 2-1. The Storm were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Patriots apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Reese Eilenstine paced Elkhorn South's offense, picking up 13 kills. Eilenstine got some help from Chloe Rauner and her 20 assists. Rauner also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Cosette Bartling, racking up three apiece.

Having lost for the first time this season, Elkhorn South fell to 2-1. As for Millard South, they now also have a winning record of 2-1.

Elkhorn South has already played their next game, a 2-0 loss against Elkhorn North on the 29th. As for Millard South, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Gretna on the 29th.
