Baseball Game Preview: Owen Warhorses vs. Asheville Christian Academy Lions

The Owen Warhorses will take on the Asheville Christian Academy Lions at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Owen has given up an average of 10.8 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last four times Owen and Mitchell have met, but the home crowd finally got their W two weeks ago. The Warhorses fell 11-6 to the Mountaineers. The loss continues a trend for the Warhorses in their meetings with the Mountaineers: they've now lost three in a row.

Gavin Puckett was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Eathan Hall also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Meanwhile, Asheville Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch last Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 15-5 to Southside Christian.

Owen's loss dropped their record down to 2-14. As for Asheville Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-9.

Owen suffered a grim 10-3 defeat to Asheville Christian Academy in their previous meeting back in March. Can the Warhorses avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
