After flying high against Springstead on Thursday, Wesley Chapel came back down to earth. The Wesley Chapel Wildcats fell just short of the Berkeley Prep Buccaneers by a score of 2-1 on Friday. The Wildcats' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Aiden Nguyen was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out 11 batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits (and not a single walk).

On the hitting side, Wesley Chapel saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mills Carrillo, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base. Nick Walters also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Wesley Chapel's loss dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Berkeley Prep, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wesley Chapel will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on South Sumter at 7:00 p.m. on March 24th. As for Berkeley Prep, they are taking a road trip to face off against Trinity Catholic at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Trinity Catholic has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the matchup with three straight losses, while Berkeley Prep will come in with three straight victories.
