Basketball Recap: Example Academy National Takes a Loss

Example Academy National was the 77-64 winner over Shining Star Sports Academy when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Example Academy National Eagles fell 69-60 to the Shining Star Sports Academy Panthers on Friday. That's two games in a row now that the Eagles have lost by exactly nine points.

Shining Star Sports Academy was led to victory by Harissoum Coulibaly and Jadah White. Coulibaly went 10 of 15 on her way to 22 points in addition to eight rebounds and six assists, while White almost dropped a double-double on 21 points and nine boards. White is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Ndeye Diagne, who posted seven points.

This is the second loss in a row for Example Academy National and nudges their season record down to 3-4. As for Shining Star Sports Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.

Example Academy National and Bishop Ireton will compete for holiday cheer at 10:55 a.m. on Sunday. Bishop Ireton is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 69.2 points per game this season. As for Shining Star Sports Academy, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 78-66 victory against Central Pointe Christian Academy National on the 14th.
