Baseball Recap: Vista PEAK Prep Has No Trouble Against Valley

Vista PEAK Prep lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Valley, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Saturday's matchup. Vista PEAK Prep was the clear victor by a 12-2 margin over Valley on Saturday. With that win, the Bison brought their scoring average up to 7 runs per game.

Eric Houser was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. Houser was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 1-for-1 with three RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Domenic Montoya was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three doubles, two RBI, and one run. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. Evan Kelly also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Vista PEAK Prep was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .455. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive games.

The victory got Vista PEAK Prep back to even at 3-3. As for Valley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Vista PEAK Prep has already played their next contest, an 8-2 defeat against Northfield on the 22nd. As for Valley, they will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Bennett at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
