Basketball Game Preview: Rocky River Pirates vs. Whitney Wildcats

The Rocky River Pirates and the Whitney Wildcats will round out the year against one another at at 10:30 a.m. on Friday. One thing working in Rocky River's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five matches.

Last Friday, Rocky River beat Bay 62-53.

Jacob Radcliffe was his usual excellent self, going 7 of 13 en route to 19 points along with eight boards and three steals. The contest was his fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Swallow, who went 5 of 8 on his way to 14 points.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Whitney's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell just short of Chico by a score of 79-76. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Wildcats came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 110th, while the Panthers are ranked 255th).

Whitney's defeat dropped their record down to 8-2. As for Rocky River, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.
