Softball Recap: Portales Comes Up Short

Portales was the 7-0 winner over Robertson when they last played one another back in March of 2019, but their luck changed this time around. Portales fell just short of Robertson by a score of 2-1 on Friday. The match marked the Rams' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Myleigh Banda made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run. Addyson Mayberry was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases.

Portales' loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Robertson, their win bumped their record up to 2-6.

Coming up, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Robertson Cardinals challenge Cibola Cougars at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Portales will be paying especially close attention to Robertson's game: after Robertson faces off against Cibola, they'll take on Portales again at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
